A small change behind the scenes

We’d like to let you know about a change taking place at Willow Medical Centre from 1 July 2026.

What’s changing?

Every general practice in New Zealand is supported by a Primary Health Organisation (PHO), which helps fund and support the delivery of primary healthcare services. From 1 July, Willow Medical Centre will be moving from WellSouth to thePHO.

What this means for you

For our patients, it will be business as usual.

  • Your doctors, nurses and healthcare team will remain the same.

  • Your enrolment will automatically transfer to thePHO – you don’t need to complete any forms or take any action.

  • Your consultation fees will remain unchanged.

  • Your appointments, prescriptions, referrals and ongoing care will continue as normal.

  • If you are currently enrolled in a care programme, your care will continue without interruption.

Why we’re making this change

At Willow Medical Centre, we are always looking for opportunities to strengthen the care and services we provide to our patients and the wider community.

Our move to thePHO reflects our commitment to delivering accessible, equitable, high-quality healthcare. By joining thePHO, we will have access to additional support, funding opportunities and programmes that will help us continue to grow and enhance the services we offer. Over time, this will enable us to invest further in the health and wellbeing of our patients and whānau while continuing to provide the personalised care you know and trust.

While this change is happening behind the scenes, our commitment to you remains exactly the same. Our team will continue to provide compassionate, patient-centred care and work alongside you to support your health at every stage of life.

If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to speak with one of our reception team or your usual doctor or nurse.

Ngā mihi,
The team at Willow Medical Centre
