Medical services
At Willow Medical Centre we pride ourselves on our patient-focused approach, providing personalised healthcare and support for you and your family.
Standard appointment - 15 mins
Meet with your GP to discuss a single medical issue.
Longer appointment - 30 mins
If you have more complex health issues, or more than one topic to discuss, a 30 minute appointment may be required to ensure there is an appropriate amount of time to provide a high level of care.
Nurse Prescriber appointment
Our nurse Leigh Elder has undertaken additional study to become a nurse prescriber. Her advanced knowledge and skills allow her to diagnose and treat common conditions, including prescribing some medications. If you are a normally healthy person you are welcome to book an appointment to discuss any of the following with her:
Ear infections
Skin infections
Rashes
Hayfever and mild allergies
Asthma
Urinary tract infection
Conjunctivitis
Sexually transmitted infections
Thrush/fungal infections
Constipation
Simple pain relief
Smoking cessation
Nurse simple prescription reviews
When providing regular prescriptions we need to see you for a review every 6 months (or more often for some people). Our GP appointments are limited and not everyone needs to see a doctor every time. If you are generally well and stable on a small amount of ‘simple’ medication then a nurse review may be appropriate for you. Please ask your doctor.
Urgent appointment triage list
Requests for urgent or same day appointments are managed via a triage system. Ask the receptionist to place your name on our triage list. A doctor will call you during the morning to assess your needs. Your issue may be resolved by the doctor, in which case there a small charge; or an urgent appointment will be booked, in which case there is no fee for the triage call.
